CARINE

RESTAURANT

TIME OUT DUBAI

"An exciting new restaurant from famed chef Izu Ani is now open at Emirates Golf Club.

carine, named after the popular chef’s wife, is now serving up a delicious selection of French-Mediterranean dishes.

The chef, who is well-known from his time at Dubai’s top restaurants La Serre and La Petite Maison, is excited to launch this new venue. The chef also opened Izu Brasserie & Bakery last year in City Walk.

Sitting in the space that held longstanding restaurant Le Classique, carine promises a fresh, trendy new look.

Fresh, bright interiors, huge windows and modern furnishings lend an on-trend vibe. While bowls of fresh lemons and freshly-baked bread add the air of a modern Mediterranean kitchen.

There’s also an expansive terrace, with pretty tiled floors, allowing views across the greens, ideal for lazy, chilled-out meals.

“It’s a space that encourages diners to relax and unwind, spending hours with family and friends while enjoying outstanding food – a true change from the busy and overwhelming atmosphere of many of the city’s dining outlets,” says the team behind it.

Chef Izu says the two major loves in his life are his wife and bread, and carine comes together to celebrate the two.

The restaurant is filled with all of Carine’s personal favourites from freshly baked breads inspired by the bakery she used to work in in Northern France, to her own homemade plum and apple jam, to Mediterranean specialities and of course, delicious desserts such as a passionfruit cheesecake.

More substantial and savory dishes include seasoned crispy calamari, burrata, tuna carpaccio, harissa prawns and an onion tarte flambée. Mains include grills, meats and a signature lobster linguine."
